Quad Jumper

This game is a personal project I have been working on. Combining the combat and story elements from flight sim games like Ace Combat, with fast paced ground and air movement of a quadrapedal mech.

Players pilot a Quad Jumper mech with various attachments and abilities to complete levels and progress though a story.

Main Features

Wall Climbing.

A skill based movement feature that gives the player more freedom of where they can move on the map. 

Swing Grapple

A grapple ability that lets the player swing around corners and on top of buildings. If players are skilled enough, they can keep their momentum while moving around corners.

Combat and Progression

Combat in the same format as games like Titanfall 2 and Ace combat. Fighting off waves of enemies to progress through levels.

New weapons and abilities can be unlocked after each level.

Current Progress

Completed Features:
  • Full movement system with Climbing, grapple, and boost.

  • 8 Weapon types

  • 4 Utility abilities with different effects

  • 5 Enemies with different AIs and weapons.

  • Start to finish level game loop. (Only one game mode)

  • Tutorial level

  • 13 levels with different amounts of enemy waves. (only 2 maps)

  • Unlocking items and abilities after completing levels.

  • Functional minimap with enemy locations.

  • Extra tools/code to improve level creation.

  • Main Menu, loadout selection, and level selection.

  • High Score system per level.

  • Health and damage with damage indicator on HUD.

  • Reloading and weapon cooldown.

  • Boost energy.

Not Completed Features:
For Minimum Viable Product:
  • Time limit on levels.

  • Enough maps to fill each level.

  • More enemy types.

  • Audio/sound.

  • Replacing AI generated textures.

Nice to have / Future Updates
  • VR Support. (already partially implemented)
